Plans and limits

Plans Free, Pro, Agency

KeptSEO has three plans: Free, Pro and Agency. Every workspace starts on Free. You can upgrade to Pro in Settings, under Plan and billing; Agency is coming soon. Prices: Pro $19/month or $190/year; Agency $59/month or $590/year. This page explains the limits each plan has.

Settings, Workspace shows your plan, your usage and what the next plan adds. On Pro you can add packs of 5 extra active sites ($10/month each, $2 per site); they count on Pro only. Free can’t buy packs, and moving to Agency (which includes more active sites) removes them automatically with a prorated credit. See Billing.

MCP add-on. Connecting an AI assistant over MCP costs $5/month ($50/year) on Free or Pro and is included in Agency. Owners and admins can switch MCP off for the workspace in Settings, MCP & API (buying the add-on switches it on; Agency starts on), and members need an owner or admin to enable MCP for them; viewers never get it. On Free the assistant sees the Free limits; when an answer was cut by them it says so in one short line. See Billing.

Very large sites use more site slots. Your plan’s active-site limit is a number of site slots. Most sites use 1. Very large sites (over 50,000 search queries a month) use 3 site slots; over 250,000 use 6. We give 7 days’ notice before importing pauses. Sites and Settings show a badge such as Uses 3 slots — very large site.

  • Activating a very large site needs enough free slots; otherwise Settings tells you how many slots it uses and how many you have.
  • Size is measured daily over the last 28 days. A site counts as larger only after 7 days in a row above the line, and smaller only after 28 days in a row well below it (under 80% of the line), so a site near the line does not flip back and forth.
  • Sites that were active when this started count as 1 slot for 90 days.
  • If a site grows and your workspace goes over its slots, nothing is locked, hidden or deleted. Owners get an email and Settings shows a notice: “Site X is now very large and uses 3 slots, so you’re using N of M. Within 7 days, move a site from Active to Saved or Excluded in Settings → Sites, or upgrade; otherwise older-history imports for the over-limit sites pause (daily updates continue).” After 7 days, if you are still over, only the import of older history (before the newest 3 months) pauses for the over-limit sites. It resumes within the hour once you are back within your slots.
  • On Free every site counts as 1 slot, so you can add a very large site: its newest 3 months import and it keeps updating daily, and its older history imports on Pro (Older history on Pro).

Active, saved and excluded sites

  • You pick which sites are active. Active sites show in your dashboards.
  • The rest are saved: we keep importing their data in the background, but they are not shown. Make a saved site active and its full history appears, because it is already stored.
  • Excluded sites are not shown or saved. We delete their stored data within 30 days.
  • You change a site’s state in Settings, under Sites. See Account and settings.

One site, many properties. Search Console can hold several properties for one website (for example the domain property writingincrease.com and the URL-prefix property https://writingincrease.com/), and Bing has its own entry for it. They are all one site: Settings, Sites shows it once (with “2 properties” or “3 properties” next to the name), moving it to Active, Saved or Excluded moves every property, and it counts once against your plan. A subdomain such as blog.example.com is a separate site.

How big a site with several properties is. A very large site uses more slots (below), and its size is the whole site’s, counted once. If you verified the Domain property (sc-domain:example.com) in Search Console, it already covers every URL of the domain, so its size is the site’s size and the other Google properties are not added. Without a Domain property, separate URL-prefix properties are added together (http:// and https://, www and non-www cover different URLs), but a property inside another one (https://example.com/blog/ inside https://example.com/) is not counted twice. Bing is a different search engine: a Bing property counts with its own size, and the site uses whichever is larger, Google or Bing, never both added.

Which data the dashboard shows. For Google, a site’s dashboard and its row on the Sites page show one property: the Domain property when you have one, otherwise the largest URL-prefix property. If you verify the Domain property later, we switch to it automatically; Search Console gives it the full 16 months of history right away, so nothing is lost. Your annotations belong to the site, so they stay when the shown property changes. Settings, Sites shows a tip on a site with several properties and no Domain property. A Bing property keeps its own row.

When you are over a limit, the fix is always in Settings → Sites. Every notice uses the same words as that page: move a site from Active to Saved or Excluded, move a Saved site to Excluded when your plan can’t keep more, or upgrade.

The 14-day swap lock. On Free and Pro, a site must stay active for 14 days before you can swap it out for another. Settings shows the days left. Agency has no lock.

History on Free. We store everything, but Free shows the last 16 months. If you pick a range that reaches back further, the dashboard starts it at the 16-month limit and says so. Pro shows all the history we hold, so nothing is lost by waiting.

Top 5,000 queries and pages on Free. In each view, the Queries and Pages tables (and the query or page lists on a detail page, the Growing / Decaying tabs and the monthly heatmap) list the top 5,000 rows by clicks for the range you picked, plus, when you compare, the top 5,000 of the comparison period (so Lost and Decaying rows still show). Search, filters, tabs and sorting work within those 5,000. When a list is cut, its last line reads, for example, +12,400 more queries on Pro — Free shows the top 5,000. Totals, the KPI cards and the charts always count the whole site. Pro lists every query and page.

Very large sites on Free. The newest 3 months always import. If a site has more than about a million rows of history, older months keep importing while someone in your workspace signs in at least every 14 days; otherwise the import pauses (Paused: sign in to continue importing) and carries on after the next sign-in. Nothing already imported is removed, and Pro never pauses. See Import and daily updates.

If you have more Active sites than your plan includes. This can happen when you connect many sites at once, or after a plan changes. We never delete your data. You choose which sites stay viewable: in Settings → Sites, the sites above the “More Active sites than your plan includes” line stay viewable and the rest are read-locked (they stay in your sites list with their last numbers, but their dashboards are closed). Drag sites across the line, use Keep active, or switch others to Saved. Until you choose, the most recently activated sites stay viewable. A very large site counts as more than one site (it “uses 3 site slots”, or 6), so on a paid plan one very large site can take the place of several small ones; on Free every site counts once. While you are over the limit, the 14-day wait does not apply.

Plan notices. Where a larger plan would show you more, a quiet note names the plan and links to See plans in Settings. You can dismiss most of them.
